The 1st Edition of the Prestigious South-South Progressive Awards leaves up to expectations.

The 16^th day of December, 2016 will remain a remarkable day in the minds of people as foremost Nigerians and some notable sons and daughters from the South- South Region where honoured at the 1^st edition of the South-South Progressive Awards in Port-Harcourt, the Rivers state capital.
 
The likes of Prince Tonye Princewill, PDP Chairman (Rivers State)Bro Felix Obuah, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi Deputy Speaker Delta State House of Assembly, and High Chief. Engr Johnbosco were among the recipients.
 
Others include Gerry Ikputu & Partners, Barr. George Turnah, Dr Henry Ogiri, Chief Nice Alamieyeseigha,Victor Tubotamuno Briggs, Amb. Dr. Yusuf Ali, Ode A. Oghogho, Chief Dennis Okwu,

Chief Amb. Lawal Africas, Sunny Anderson Osiebe, Amb Hussaini coomassie, Mr. Sylvester Okoh, Prof. Steve Azaiki, Mr. Ekiudoko Frank, High Chief Dr.Amb, Engr. Johnbosco o. Onunkwo.
Amb. Kingsley Amafibe, organizer of the Award, said the recipients were honoured because of their contributions to the peaceful co-existence, youth empowerment and development of the South-South Region and Nigeria in generals.
 
The event featured a summit with the theme: “Peace in the South-South, Our Hope to Economic Development.”
