The House of Representatives ad hoc committee on Review of Pump Price of Petrol chaired by Mr. Nnana Igbokwe on Thursday applauded Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) for sticking to the price of N145 per litter of petrol despite additional N1 per litter of petrol loading cost  as demanded by Nigeria oil tanker drivers.

The chairman of the committee said," we are excited to know that you will not be increasing the price of petrol illrespective of the increase which to us would have been an additional burden on the masses who are already not finding things easy".

He further said the clarification by PPPRA will put to rest the speculations of eventual hike in the pump price of petrol,  Igbokwe added.

The clarification was made by the representative of the Acting Executive Secretary of PPPRA, Mr. Olasupo Agbaje (General Manager Operations) when the committee paid the agency courtesy visit in its office.

According to Mr Agbaje, "we have no intention of increasing petrol pump price because the N1 additional cost is built into the lightering expenses".
