The
Clerk to National Assembly, Dr. Salisu A. Maikasuwa has finally bowed out of
office in commencement of terminal leave preparatory to his retirement from
service.
Alhaji
Mohammed A. Sani-Omolori will step into the office as Acting Clerk to the
National Assembly as instructed from the National Assembly Service Commission.
In
a circular of NASS/CAN/46/VOL.1/97 dated 12th May, 2016, the
outgoing Clerk- Dr. Salisu A. Maiasuwa indicated that he will be proceeding on
his terminal leave “from 14th, 2016 to 14th August,
2016”.
The
Letter reads:
“During
my absence, the Acting Clerk to the National Assembly, Alhaji Mohammed A.
Sani-Omolori will; perform my duties.
Mr.
Sani-Omolori according to the circular will be the Acting Clerk to the National
Assembly from the 14th May, 2016.
It
will be recalled that the National Assembly Service Commission had in a letter
dated 20th April, 2016 appointed Mr. Sani-Omolori as the Acting
Clerk to the National Assembly. This was followed by various reactions from the
letter written by the Senate President rejecting the appointment and the
Commission’s Chairman’s reply explaining the circumstances of the emergence of
Mr. Sani-Omolori against the incumbent Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly
Mr. Ben Efeturi.
Available
information’s reveals that various high level meetings held since last week to
resolve the misunderstanding and expressed satisfaction that the issues have
been amicably resolved with a clear understanding of the Commission’s position.
